About the Role

This is certainly a unique opportunity in that you will be reporting directly to the GM giving you great strategic exposure, as well as still getting to "cut code" and mentor other developers technically.

The Technical Architect is responsible for designing, developing and implementing systems and working collaboratively with the project teams to deliver fit for purpose solutions within a structured architecture. You will bring technical vision and extensive experience to our team, this is a hands-on role requiring diverse and very strong technical skills coupled with the ability to determine the most suitable technical outcomes when many options are available. Mentoring and providing technical guidance and support to the Development team is a key responsibility of this role.

In essence, we want a trusted advisor, who is hands-on, knowledgeable in turning strategies into solutions and is comfortable talking about commercial objectives.

Duties include:

• Designing software solutions and integration to support strategic objectives
• Set and advise on development team standards, tools, techniques and appropriate development methods
• Support, mentor and motivate the development team
  • help influence them to take positive action and accountability
  • implement governance and structure in which to code
  • support the team by using your commercial knowledge on how to prioritise workloads and retain business knowledge
• Collaborate with the Business analysts, developers and infrastructure team to deliver effective and timely solutions
• Produce low level and high level technical solution design documents, by working collaboratively with stakeholders
• Define continuous business improvement to software solutions and business applications, while gaining an understanding of stakeholder's processes and procedures.
• Understand cross-solution dependencies, identifying gaps or overlaps and proposing solutions to mitigate risk
• Support the successful deployment of software solutions into the production environment

To secure an ongoing and long-term role with IB4T you must have:

• Highly developed software architecture & development skills
• Proficient in LAMP (Linux / Apache / MySQL / PHP)
• Experience with SugarCRM
• Experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Meteor, Node.js, ReactJS and AngularJS or similar front-end frameworks
• Hands on experience in the design and development of integration services / application integration

And these developed and demonstrated "soft" skills will put you at the top of the pile:

• Ability to work and successfully communicate with teams and individuals crossing multiple stakeholders / businesses
• Proven problem-solving skills as well as the ability to "get the job done" efficiently, rather than being too much of a perfectionist
• A passion for delivering outstanding service with a strong focus on customer needs
• Confidence in leading and effective experience in both planning and estimating large projects
